Meanwhile, the latest quarterly report by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics has
found that the number of jobs in the information technology industry has been
increasing despite the economic slowdown. According to the bureau, the number of
employed IT professionals increased in the second quarter by 10% as compared to the
2007 second-quarter figures. For example, Barracuda Networks, a leader in web
security applications, plans to expand its research and development center in Ann
Arbor, MI. The project is expected to create 351 new IT jobs, including 185 workers
who will be directly employed by the company. Add to this the growing job count on
